It was fifteen minutes past the midnight hour, and fifteen minutes exactly. The girl had been prowling the corridors menacingly, like many Slytherins tend to do, and she had just survived another night without being caught by that wretched Filch. All that animagus studying certainly had its benefits...
A sleek black cat with a black diamond choker around its scrawny neck slipped down the final dungeon corridor until it stopped infront of the Common Room Portrait. It bowed its tiny head, closed its sap-colored eyes and slowly grew into the notorious, but fetching, sneaky, but beautiful, Salem Fausten.
She shook back her mane of dark brown hair, folded her arms across her chest, and surrendered the password. The portrait swung forward soundlessly and she sauntered inside, closing the musty painting door behind her with a small 'thunk'. Even though the Common Room looked pretty much lifeless and she was, as it seemed, alone, Salem still walked tall and with purpose. She rolled her shoulders back, held her head up high, and pursed her pale lips in a ridiculously well-rehearsed pout. She was like poetry in motion: graceful, soothing, and moving with an almost adoring caress. She also possessed an almst deliberate voluptuosness to herself that one might find exciting...but repulsive.
The pouty girl was in no mood for stairs, beds, or night clothes. Instead of shuffling up the girls' staircase and into her dormitory, she walked around one of the dark leather couches and sat down softly. She leaned back, frown still intact, and looked up at the stone ceiling that was pitch black in the poor light of the dying fire.
